Meet Top Innovations.
Year 2024
AI-driven platform delivering personalized, adaptive education for students.
1st Place - Pallas.ai (Connor Wong, Ian Kim)
Redefines education by using AI to create personalized, real-time adaptive learning paths for each student, accessible for just $20 per month. The platform bridges post-pandemic educational gaps and extends into corporate training, promoting continuous learning and skill development for both students and professionals.
SDG 4: With the help of individualized, AI-based learning that works at each student’s own pace and capacity, closing pandemic-driven disparities. It provides parents with real-time progress notifications, which helps students of any level achieve success.
SDG 8: Corporate training modules that reduce costs and enhance employee skills. This adaptable approach equips workers with relevant skills, driving sustainable economic growth and strengthening workforce adaptability in a shifting global market.
Year 2023
Textile manufacturer with sorting and recycling tech to minimize waste
1st Place - Natù (Xiangjuan He)
Through mechanical and chemical recycling processes, Natù repurposes fabrics without relying on raw materials, reducing the environmental impact of traditional textile production. Using RGB cameras and near-infrared spectroscopy, it sorts textiles by color and composition, avoiding the need for re-dyeing and minimizing chemical use.
SDG 12: Includes technology for sorting, using RGB cameras and near-infrared spectroscopy, ensures recycling is efficient, with garments returned to them rather than left in landfill.
SDG 13: Minimizes footprint of through reduction of emissions from waste and raw material extraction, avoiding heavy chemical re-use and re-dyeing for a more sustainable model for fashion that is also climate conscious.
Year 2022
Wildfire detection, providing extra time and guidance for support services.
1st Place - Project Paragon (Ravi Sharma)
Paragon supplements remote sensing and satellite data analytics with advanced algorithms that provide firefighters with additional time. Using environmental data collected in real time, it can foresee potential danger and provide communities with protection, preventing wildfires.
SDG 13: Mitigates climate-exacerbated wildfires. Through timely detection and risk alerts, the system reduces fire-related damage, helping communities respond effectively.
SDG 15: Protects forests, biodiversity, and natural habitats. This early intervention reduces wildfire spread and intensity, preserving ecosystems and minimizing the loss of flora and fauna due to fire.
